This is a tutorial on how to bypass the Playback or USB side of a mix knob on an audio interface in which turning the mix knob towards the Playback or USB side causes an echo effect of vocals in headphones while recording vocals and playing back a prerecorded track at the same time. This solution I present in this video allows you to playback a prerecorded track and hear your vocals with that prerecorded track at the same time in your headphones without an echo while recording. This is a revised demonstration video (from my previous video) which now includes a stereo audible demonstration with music and recording.

About joel cowen

Music has been a huge part of my life since taking piano lessons at seven years of age. From there I obtained a degree in the recording arts from Studio West in San Diego, California and have a bachelor's degree in economics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. My work expertise includes sound engineering, music production, and videography. I have experience in engineering podcasts and video-casts for various clients including: “This is Our Normal Podcast”, “PotcastsRUhl”, “Feels Like Home That Remodeling Show”, and “The Greater Awareness Within”. I have done video work and mixing/mastering audio for Heart Wreckers in Orange County. I am also a sound engineer and videographer at BlasMo Music Studio Oasis in Laguna Hills, California. I play keyboard in a band called “Christine and the Cosmos”. I also work on solo projects including instrumentals such as hip-hop, electronic, and orchestral music, and I compose instrumental piano songs. I have been told my music lends itself not only to their listening pleasure, but also should be in a movie, so if you are interested in making a movie, I hope my songs will inspire you.
